This 2,4 km walk runs along the Iton River then crosses pastures and forests. 800 m of this trail is accessible to people with reduced mobility and strollers.
Perhaps you will have the chance to see, in flesh and feathers, the wagtail of the streams. This bird will be your companion throughout this journey to help you discover the ecosystem of its environment.
This former metallurgical site on the banks of the Iton has a remarkable natural wealth. Its renaturation in 2015 has made it an exceptional place where characteristic fauna and flora meet, with many unusual, even rare species (the red-eyed naiad, the calopteryx, the oriole, the wagtail, etc.).
Along the way, 11 educational panels will help you discover some of the original features of the wetlands along the Iton, but also some memories of ancient human activities that have now completely disappeared.
Here and there, you will see cows and sheep (eco-grazing), dragonflies, trout, butterflies, great spotted woodpecker, ducks and moorhens. You will admire the remains of the furnace, but also the wash house, the mill and its fish pass and the Château de Condé.
