Pearls of lyre heritage

La Neuve-Lyre was built on a hill overlooking the Risle. Like its sister, the Vieille-Lyre, its history is linked to that of the Abbey of the Lyre and the fortified castle which was established there. Later, the iron industry will be the economic engine of the village in the XNUMXth century. Nowadays, the Town Hall with its typical architecture of the country, the richly sculpted fountain and the alleys bear witness to the activities which have followed one another in this village and which have embellished the daily life of its inhabitants. During this visit, you will be amazed by discovering the exceptional statues and bas-reliefs (XNUMXth century) of the St-Gilles church, usually closed to the public.
