Tillières-sur-Avre is a picturesque and typical village of Normandy. The charm and diversity of its landscapes combine with the richness of its architectural heritage: listed church, castle, medieval gate, half-timbered houses…. From the eleventh century, Tillières asserts its strategic role by becoming a stronghold that will protect the southern border between the Duchy of Normandy and the Kingdom of France. A village built on a hillside along the Avre river. In addition to the ubiquitous medieval heritage, the town has the particularity of having many wrought iron shopkeepers' signs as well as an imposing sundial next to the Town Hall.
