Departing from the church of Gouville, a small town in Mesnils-sur-Iton, you go for a short walk along the Iton river. You explore the lands of the Domaine de Chambray and their protected biodiversity. Perhaps you will come across a deer in the woods, an animal that the Marquis Jacques de Chambray, known as “the Grand Veneur”, so loved to hunt.

Step 1

Facing the church, go down to the left. In front of the restaurant, go to the right in the direction of Breteuil, taking the sidewalk. On leaving the village, cross the road at the level of the small bus shelter, and take the Chemin de Cheronnel which goes to the left.

Step 2

Turn left after the last house on the left. Turn right along the Iton and walk along it. At the crossroads, go to the left, still skirting the Iton.

At the road, turn left to cross the river. After the bridge, take the path to the left. Enter the woods by the dominating path
Iton. Then descend to the left a steep path cut by three steps. Continue, the driveway widens.

Step 4

On leaving the woods, take a path on the left between the fences crossing the pastures. At the footbridge, cross. Take a path to the left going up towards Gouville. Cross the RD 833 on the pedestrian crossing.
