Pedagogical apiary of Authieux

The Apiary of Authieux has several particularities but the strongest is the breeding of bees in a natural environment with no chemical treatment on the foragers which gives it the right to have an organic certification on its production.
The farm selects a breed of local black bees. The harvest does not use any chemical treatment on the colonies.
This human-sized apiary offers visits in beekeeper attire and for children from 3 years old, in order to explain its ethics for the respect of flora and fauna.

“I started beekeeping out of passion for bees in 2015 and I fell in love with its beautiful foragers and more generally for nature and the environment. This is how the educational and participatory apiary project has begun. And then things have evolved over the years by never stopping to work and seriously produce the best on our apiary. Even today, this same passion never leaves me because frankly our beautiful black foragers from Normandy are worth it. ” Laurent

Educational and participatory apiary open to visitors from April to October (depending on the activity of the bees). Guided tours in beekeeper's outfit with opening of the hives. Honey tasting at the end of the visit.
