Bike-road loop, on small country roads. You cross the villages of Les Barils, Gournay-le-Guérin, Chennebrun and St-Christophe-sur-Avre where castles, churches and half-timbered houses bear witness to the history of Normandy.

Les Barils (Notre-Dame church)

Step 1

Leaving from the church, take the road to Gournay on the D166 and continue until the junction with the D21. Then turn left towards Gournay-le-Guérin. At the water tower, turn left to enter the village as far as its church. Join the D21 to turn left towards Chennebrun.

Step 2

At the silo, turn right onto the C51 and cross Bois Anjouy. Then turn left on the C11 to Chennebrun. At the crossroads after the cemetery, continue straight on to see on your right a picnic area on the edge of the old royal ditches, now in water. Take a tour of the village to appreciate its heritage (see back).

Step 3

From the church of Chennebrun, take the direction of St-Chritophe-sur-Avre by the D21 (rue Saint Hubert) then the C53. Turn left at the water tower. Go to the left of the church then in front of the castle gate. Leave the village by the C40 towards Les Barils.

Step 4

Turn right towards La Forêt. At the calevary, turn right onto the C49, rue de la Vaucannerie. You pass a cabin perched in the trees. It rests on 2 ash trees at the edge of the forest. At the end of the road, turn left to reach the center of Les Barils by the secure cycle lane.
