A beautiful route along the Iton valley to meet the castles of Chambray and Condé-sur-Iton. You cross small villages and forests, Sensitive Natural Spaces, plains and valleys. Landscapes that inspired the poet Pablo Neruda. This Nobel Prize for Literature came to settle in Condé-sur-Iton in 1972 to find peace and serenity there. Chapels, churches and washhouses complete the picture.

Step 1

Go up to rue de Verneuil and immediately turn right into rue des Remparts. Continue opposite by the rue des Chérottes, and finally the rue de la piscine.

Step 2

Cross the railway line and follow right to the Moulin des Chérottes. Take the path opposite which enters the woods and runs along the Iton.

Step 3

At Roman, take the D 51 on the right. Further on, take a road to the left towards "Le Poirier Guillot". Continue on the dirt road. Before the livestock building, turn right and continue on the road.

Step 4

Take the third path on the right which enters the wood. In the village, take the street on the left and continue along the dirt road. At the road, head to the right then cross the D 51. Cross the Hamel keeping to the right. Then take the first path on the left in the fields. (On this path, you can shorten your circuit by the path on the right). Go along the wood on the right, then the wall of the park of the Château de Chambray on the right.

At the road, turn left and at the crossroads turn left again. Enter Les Bruyères and continue straight.

Step 6

Take the road on the right which enters the village of Séez-Moulins, then the 1st on the left, direction Condé-sur-Iton. At the fork, keep to your right. At the last house, go down the path on the right which forms a "U". At the end of it, continue to the right twice. In the wood, take the path on the left which overlooks the pond.

Step 7

Arrived at the road, turn left, then follow the direction of St-Ouen-d'Attez twice.
1,5 km further on, take the path on the right which descends to the Soligny ford. Then follow the path on the right which leads to the hamlet.

In the bend which goes to the left, take the opposite path. Continue along the castle wall by the road. In Condé-sur-Iton, cross the two crossroads to leave the village.

Step 9

Before the railway line, turn right. Cross the road to take the path opposite. Then follow it to the left. Take the D 833 on the right, then the 1st road on the left, and finally on the right the path.

Continue on the road to the right, and immediately the road to Hamel to the left. Take the path to the left. Follow it to the right. Continue crossing the D 173. Turn right after the wood to the D 833. Cross the Châtelets and continue to Mégremesnil.
(On this path, a variant on the right is proposed to you).

Step 11

Take the Chemin de la Moisière. At the exit of Gaudrée, follow to the right, then take the Chemin du Moulin again to the right. Take the 1st road on the left which enters Les Brosses to the crossroads of the D 833.

Cross to take the path to the right of the town hall. At the exit of the wood, turn twice to the right, direction Gébert, which you will cross. At the pond, turn right, then left in the path.

Step 13

At the Levandier piece, at the top of the bend, leave the road to continue opposite on the path. Follow the D 45 to the right. Cross the D140. After the bridge over the Iton, keep left in the direction of the city center, then pass on the Place du Vieux Marché. Dismount to reach the Place de la Halle by the narrow street opposite.
