Walking

With a length of 131 km, the Iton is born in the hills of Perche. It is the last tributary of the left bank of the Eure, and therefore a sub-tributary of the Seine. In its upper course, it has the particularity of being a watercourse with eclipses: it was first quartered, by decision of Guillaume Le Conquérant then by Henri 1er Beauclerc, in forced arms, before disappearing from the surface. for about ten kilometers. This underground part of the stream is called the Sec-Iton. Its course winding through the valley offers remarkable landscapes, and by its wooded banks, its mills, creating scenes of a certain romanticism.
